Web design in Leoben and Upper Styria
For most businesses, their website is the first contact a new customer has with them. Vontures plans, designs and builds websites for companies, associations and institutions in Leoben, Trofaiach, Bruck an der Mur, Kapfenberg, Mürzzuschlag and the rest of Upper Styria. This page explains how such a project runs, what you end up with, and what determines the cost.
When a new website is worth it
Not every business needs a complete rebuild straight away. But some signs point that way:
- There is no website at all and enquiries arrive only by word of mouth.
- The existing site can only be used on a phone by zooming in.
- Its structure dates from a time when nobody searched on mobile.
- Content cannot be changed in-house because the original builder is no longer reachable.
- The site loads noticeably slowly, especially on a mobile connection.
- Imprint and privacy policy no longer match current law.
Which of these apply is what the first conversation is for. If reworking the existing site is enough, we say so.
What a project includes
The scope is put in writing before work begins. For an ordinary company website that means:
- Structure and page layout, derived from what visitors actually look for
- Design within your existing visual identity or, if there is none, a new one
- Built as its own code rather than from a website builder, so structure and load time stay controllable
- Verified rendering on phone, tablet and desktop
- Contact form with protection against automated submissions
- Imprint, privacy policy and cookie notice under Austrian law
- Setup of domain, hosting and email account
- Registration with Google Search Console and sitemap submission
- Handover with training and written documentation
How a project runs
- 1
First conversation
Free and without obligation, on site or by phone. We establish what the site needs to achieve, which content exists and when it has to be online. Usually about an hour.
- 2
Proposal
You receive the scope, a schedule and either a fixed price or a traceable estimate, in writing. No work starts before you approve it.
- 3
Draft
The home page comes first as a visible draft. Changes to structure and design are easiest and cheapest at this point.
- 4
Build
The remaining pages are built. Intermediate states stay available at a preview address, so you do not have to wait until the end.
- 5
Content
Text and images come from you and are placed by us. Missing content is a common cause of delay, which is why we discuss it early.
- 6
Launch
Domain switch, checks across several devices and browsers, submission to Google. The old site stays reachable until you sign off.
- 7
Handover
Training, documentation and every set of credentials. From here you can carry on without us if you want to.
What sits underneath
Load time: a page that takes several seconds on a phone loses visitors before they have read anything. We measure load time before handover with Lighthouse, Google’s measurement tool, and include the result with the handover.
Findability: every page gets its own title, its own description and a clean heading structure. The text sits in the delivered source rather than appearing only after JavaScript runs, so search engines read it reliably. Location and service appear in the text without stringing place names together.
Accessibility: sufficient contrast, labelled controls and keyboard operation are part of the standard scope. Since June 2025 the Austrian Accessibility Act applies to certain services. Whether yours is covered is something we look at in the first conversation.
Data protection: a company website normally works without tracking cookies. Where none are used, no consent banner is needed either. Where analytics are wanted, we agree beforehand which data is collected and where it goes.
Domain, hosting and email
The domain is registered in your name and belongs to you. That sounds obvious but often is not: if the domain sits with whoever built the site, your presence depends on their availability.
For hosting we either continue with your existing provider or recommend one with servers in the EU. On request an email account on your own domain comes with it, which reads noticeably differently from a free-mail address.
All credentials stay with you. If you end the arrangement, you take the website, its source code and its access with you.
After launch
A website is not finished at launch, it is in operation. On request we take on ongoing care:
- Security updates and availability monitoring
- Content changes such as new services, opening hours or job openings
- Extensions with further pages or features
- A named contact rather than a ticket system
This is optional and not a condition for the site to keep running.
What it costs
Naming a price before the first conversation would be guesswork. After it you receive either a fixed price or a range with an upper and lower bound.
What mainly moves the figure: the number of pages, whether text and images already exist, whether the site needs to be multilingual, and whether features go beyond presentation and a contact form.
Vontures is a small business under § 6 (1) no. 27 of the Austrian VAT Act. No VAT is charged, so the invoiced amount is the amount payable. Larger projects are billed in stages rather than all at the end.
Meetings in the region
Vontures is based in St. Peter-Freienstein in the district of Leoben. In-person meetings across the Leoben and Bruck-Mürzzuschlag districts are the normal case, and for many businesses an early conversation on site is more useful than any description by email.
Beyond that we work by phone and video call, which is generally enough for coordination during the build.
Discuss a website
Describe briefly what it is about. You get a reply within one working day, and the first conversation is free.
